NGUCHI (my power) the name is representation of thoughts which we (Afrikans) are afraid to think of express i.e socially spiritually and mentally. more so it’s a name representing AFRIKA as existed to the white as a dark and primitive continet.

Going back to the centuaries, Afrikans used poem, songs and even stories to educate and to inform the youth and young members of the community. Down through the ages of time. In MOMBASA was born HIPHOP KAYA (with UKOOFLANI as the members) that was nurtured by a sect of these young people involved in unifying their peers and communities with soulsearching lyrical influence and a variety of arts.

NGUCHI-P is a member of the famous group of artists known as UKOOFLANI, which represents (Upendo Kote Olewenu Ombeni Funzo La Aliyetuumba Njia Iwepo) is a combination of diverse talents which was founded in the COASTAL town of Mombasa with many more creative performers. UKOOFLANI is a social and cultural group that was established in 1996 to educate and inform the youth through music, mostly reflecting Kenya’s political and social environment.
